Circular Saw Blade Sharpening: Why It Pays to Trust the Pros

A dull circular saw blade doesn’t just slow you down, it scorches timber, leaves ragged edges, and puts unnecessary strain on your saw. Many people throw their blades away far too soon, but in most cases a professional sharpening will bring them back to life for a fraction of the price of buying new.
At RMC Sharpening Services, we use proper industry-grade kit, including the Holzmann MTY 8-70, to give tired blades a fresh edge and keep your projects running smoothly.
Why Keeping Blades Sharp Matters
A well-honed blade transforms how you work.
It glides through timber rather than tearing fibres, leaving a clean finish every time. When you’re not forcing the cut, you stay in better control, which makes the whole job safer.
Your saw’s motor doesn’t need to strain either, so the machine itself lasts longer.
By refreshing the cutting edge instead of replacing the whole blade, you’ll save money and reduce waste.

Behind the Scenes of Our Sharpening Service
When a blade arrives in our workshop, the first step is a close inspection to check for missing tips, warping, or heavy resin build-up.
Next, we mount it onto the Holzmann MTY 8-70, an expert sharpening machine that locks the blade at the perfect angle and height.
Working tooth by tooth, a diamond grinding wheel restores each edge to its original geometry, including the face and top of every tip.
Once all the teeth are perfectly matched, we balance and clean the blade so it’s ready to slot straight back into your saw. The result is a blade that runs true, cuts fast, and leaves a silky-smooth finish.
Pricing Without the Guesswork
Nobody likes a mystery bill!
That’s why our full sharpening prices are published right on our website, clear, upfront, and based on blade size and type.

Sharpen or Replace?
Not every blade can be rescued, but most can.
If the teeth are simply dull or there’s a bit of resin build-up, sharpening is the way to go. Blades with cracks, several missing carbide tips, or badly warped plates are better replaced.
A good-quality blade, cared for properly, can usually be sharpened five to ten times before it needs retiring.

The Bottom Line
Sharpening is fast, affordable, and far kinder to your wallet (and the environment) than constant replacements.
At RMC Sharpening Services, we combine know-how with the right machinery to keep tradespeople, hobbyists, and production shops cutting at their best.
